The Sakuranbo AI MCP server lets a coding agent search these docs, browse the model catalog, estimate the cost of a request, and read your balance and history. The server URL is https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp, and it uses the Streamable HTTP transport.
Every tool is read-only. The server cannot generate content, spend your balance, or change your account.
Every request to the server must be authenticated, including the docs and model tools. Sign in with OAuth, or send an API key as a bearer token. A request without a valid token gets a 401 response.
search_docs: search these docs.get_doc: read one docs page as Markdown.list_models: list models, filtered by modality or task.get_model: read one model with its input parameters and prices.estimate_cost: estimate the price of a request before you run it.get_balance: read your prepaid balance.get_usage: read your usage over a period.list_requests: list your recent requests.list_jobs: list your image and video generation jobs.get_job: read one generation job.
Connect a client
Section titled “Connect a client”By default a client signs in with OAuth: it opens your browser, you sign in to the dashboard, and you approve access. See Sign in and permissions. Each client below also shows how to use an API key instead; see Use an API key.
Claude Code
Section titled “Claude Code”claude mcp add --transport http sakuranbo https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code and follow the steps in your browser to sign in. To use an API key instead:
claude mcp add --transport http sakuranbo https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer $SAKURANBO_API_KEY"Cursor
Section titled “Cursor”Add the server to .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to make it available in every project. Cursor signs you in with OAuth.
{ "mcpServers": { "sakuranbo": { "url": "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp" } }}To use an API key instead:
{ "mcpServers": { "sakuranbo": { "url": "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:SAKURANBO_API_KEY}" } } }}VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Section titled “VS Code (GitHub Copilot)”Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. You can also run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP, and enter the server URL. When VS Code asks you to sign in, finish the flow in your browser.
{ "servers": { "sakuranbo": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp" } }}To use an API key instead, VS Code asks for the key when the server starts and keeps it out of the file:
{ "inputs": [ { "type": "promptString", "id": "sakuranbo-api-key", "description": "Sakuranbo AI API key", "password": true } ], "servers": { "sakuranbo": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:sakuranbo-api-key}" } } }}Codex CLI
Section titled “Codex CLI”Add the server to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.sakuranbo]url = "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp"Then run codex mcp login sakuranbo to sign in. To use an API key instead, set the SAKURANBO_API_KEY environment variable and add bearer_token_env_var:
[mcp_servers.sakuranbo]url = "https://api.sakuranbo.ai/mcp"bearer_token_env_var = "SAKURANBO_API_KEY"Sign in and permissions
Section titled “Sign in and permissions”When a client connects for the first time:
- The client opens your browser.
- Sign in to the Sakuranbo AI dashboard if you are not signed in.
- The consent screen shows the client and the access it requests. Choose Allow.
The client registers itself, so you do not create an OAuth app or copy a client ID.
The only permission is account:read. It lets the client read your balance, usage, and request and job history. It does not allow generating content or spending your balance.
Use an API key
Section titled “Use an API key”Use an API key when your client cannot open a browser, or when you connect from CI. Send the key as a bearer token in the Authorization header, as in the examples above.
API keys start with cherry_. The server always checks a token that starts with cherry_ as an API key, never as an OAuth token.
Create a key on the API keys page of the dashboard. Read it from an environment variable such as SAKURANBO_API_KEY instead of writing it into a file you commit.
Revoke access
Section titled “Revoke access”Open the API keys page of the dashboard. Under Connected apps (MCP), choose Disconnect next to the app and confirm. The app loses access within about a minute. If you connected with an API key, choose Revoke on the key instead; a revoked key is rejected from its next request.
